PROFESSIONAL TAP DANCE PROGRAM IN BARCELONA
Dance School Luthier Barcelona
Escola Luthier de Música was founded in 1979 by guitarist Alícia Alcalay, a graduate from the Conservatori Superior Municipal de Música de Barcelona. In 2011 Ms. Alcalay and her son Guillem Alonso, tap dancer and choreographer, opened Escola Luthier de Dansa at the ground floor of the same building.
Guillem Alonso, director of the tap program, is an international master, performing and teaching around the world. Performer and choreographer of “Camut Band” or Tap Olé”. Was living in New York and was a dancer at the historical “American Tap Dance Orchestra” (Brenda Bufalino), and “Manhattan Tap” (Heather Cornell). Was world champion in 1993, and is a master in Sand Dance, know by being one of the few to keep alive this dance form.
This dance school has the aim to become a high quality dance center specialized in tap dance. For this reason, in 2012 we start our Professional Tap Program, an intensive training for intermediate and advanced tap dancers from all nationalities.
We belong to the warm tap dance community in Barcelona. And we enjoy sharing our passion for dance, especially for tap dance.
